Photowalk: Nijmegen in November 2024

A photowalk / potter around Nijmegen in the Netherlands. I’ve been here several times before as we have friends who live nearby. Nijmegen is a fairly big city on the Waal river near the German border. Most people probably know it best from Operation Market Garden.

My visit at the end of November happened to coincide with a Carnival event, which is basically an excuse to dress up and get ripped (see below).

Close up of AstroTurf in front of a café in Nijmegen. It has a pattern with blue half circles on top of white rectangles. Golden autumn leaves sit on top of it.
The front of the Lobby cafe in Nijmegen in the early morning autumn sun.
The front door of Atelier RAM in Nijmegen in the Netherlands.
The back of a man wearing a black and orange patterned jacket with gold epaulettes. On the back is an embroidered logo of Schrobbeler, a popular drink during Carnaval.
The front of the Cafe In De Blaauwe Hand in half sun and shadow.
The name G. Merke carved onto a stone flag on the floor of Stevenskerk in Nijmegen.
Close up of organ stops and their descriptions on a small organ in Stevenskerk. It is white with gold carved decorations.
Light passing through stained glass in Stevenskerk shining onto a column in the church.
A big mural painting on the side of a building in Nijmegen showing a red light with a big reset button under glass below it.
Sign for Wok For Go in Nijmegen shown half in shadow.
A view of the walkway in front of the rear of Lindenberg Cultuurhuis in Nijmegen.
