Photowalk: tootling along the Leeds and Liverpool canal

Trying to have a break while midway through the last part of my MA, my wife pushed me out of the house and told me to have a day off. I got the train to Saltaire near Leeds and spent a few hours wandering down the West Leeds Riviera*, the sights of which vary from decrepit ruined buildings to quite nice pastoral fields. I’m already familiar with this route as I used it when training for marathons as Saltaire to Leeds Station is handily a half marathon length.

My favourite bit was walking past some toothless geezer by the canal telling his dog a nice story about “… Mr and Mrs Swan and their babies…”

*Nobody calls it that.
